City inflation rate remains at 2 per cent in January

The city’s inflation rate remained unchanged in the first month of 2012.
Numbers from Statistics Canada shows that the inflation rate for the City of Thunder Bay was about 2 per cent in January, nearly exactly the same is the inflation rate recorded in December.
Nationally, Statistics Canada has the rate of inflation pegged at 2.5 per cent.
In Ontario, the rate of inflation is at about 2.4 per cent.
Among the urban areas ranked monthly by Statistics Canada, Thunder Bay’s rate was tied with Winnipeg as the third lowest in the country.
Only Vancouver and Victoria recorded lower inflation rates.
