Police act hearing for Sgt. Mauro set for Today

MAURO found to be..."GUILTY"

Cost to the taxpayer for his 2 year paid vacation
$400,000.00 plus.

He should have been kicked to the curb.!!
A long time ago...vs. being paid for the past 2 years.

Mauro should be forced to resign.!!!

Well after 2 years it is still not over for the taxpayers of Thunder bay, looks like Sgt Jim Mauro will remain on the police force which in my opinion is a complete farce. He has cost the taxpayers approximately $400,000.00 with this 2 year go round/fiasco as compared to his previous suspension with pay for one year that cost the taxpayers an estimated $200,000.00 dollars. So much for this being a witch hunt as described by Hobbs during his comments after giving his testimony in the case, well mayor your pal is guilty as sin itself. Ask yourselves if this was the private sector what would have been the difference in the way this was handled....number one it would not have taken a private firm 2 years to deal with the situation and number 2 the end result would be Mauro being fired without doubt. In my opinion Mauro should have been kicked to the curb long ago yet he remains on paid suspended leave until April now when the final punishment will be handed down, why could this not have been decided today as well instead of delaying this even further. The tax payers and I am one of them who have had enough with the extremely long suspensions with pay, you cannot tell me that these scenarios cannot be handled in a much more streamlined and cost effective manner.! Mauro is an embarrassment to the police force and I have no idea why they would want too keep him on, a demotion to constable full time is not nearly the correct punishment in this case....he does have a history of discipline situations in his jacket and the Thunder Bay Police chief and force should simple ask for his resignation, if not received willingly then he should be fired outright as it would be done out here in the real world.
Keep in mind we still have 2 more to go within the force, that being suspended constable Toni Grann and Sgt Dan Taddeo have yet to be totally dealt with, thus adding another waste of tax dollars which collectively will end up costing the city once again well over another $400,000.00 dollars when all is said and done.
SO there you go....the thin blue line is once again shown to be protecting their own even when those members are found guilty and as in Mauro's case having the nerve to NOT even show up at his own trial and hearing of a finding of guilty in his case....now if that is not the ultimate in being smug and hubris I do not know what is.
