Leith Dunick, of tbnewswatch.com City council is expected to award some big contracts at Monday evening. Nearly $9 million worth of local infrastructure projects are on the agenda at the regular scheduled city council meeting at Thunder Bay city hall. One of those contracts involves Delaney Arena and Fort William Stadium. The city plans to use matching funds from the federal government to carry out $1million worth of improvements. That work includes upgrades to the parking lot, expansion of concession areas, new accessible washrooms, and improved Transit access. It will take the next two years to complete the projects. Council is also being asked to approve three contracts worth more than $5 million for water main and sewer line replacements.
