I watched the entire city council meeting last evening from start to
finish....and my head was set to spinning a few times....what we have is more of
a KANGAROO council, the likes of which after this meeting I have not ever seen
before.
Most confusing is as per Mark Bentz the bottom line is the city would save
$200,000.00 annually....we see who voted to close it....and hearing for example
HOBBS saying that his voting to close Municipal was strictly a business decision
based vote....yet when it came down to closing the Conservatory he initially
voted to shut it down and later changed his mind after his visit to the facility
to keep it open with the hopes that the city could find a better way to promote
it and thus make it profitable.!!! Which I believe to be 100% impossible....when
going over the annual cost to keep it open.
Clearly even after giving his reasons as to why he was voting that was he
did....his peer support again is severely lacking....he cannot garner city
council support no matter what dribble spurts from his lips.
NONE of what I viewed last evening made any sense at all....RegenMed also
got more funding....as did the youth centre in the Victoriaville mall....one
would believe that a youth centre would be much more beneficial if it were to be
located in a resident area.....much like the current Boy's and Girl's club on
Junot Ave ....its location makes perfect sense....this new one does not.!!
